Regardless of the computing tasks you perform, be It In a busy corporate environment or simply navigating on your PC at home, you will utilize your favorite apps more often than others. As such, pinning them to the Taskbar, allows access with a click of the mouse. If you wish to unpin them and for one reason or another It fails to do so, In this tutorial, I will show you how to clear pinned apps from the Taskbar with Incredible ease.
Before I make a start, here's what I'm referring to. There are a number of ways to pin apps to the Taskbar, one of which Is to right-click the app In question and select Pin to taskbar as shown below.
I've done this with quite a few of my favorite apps, and they''re now pinned to the Taskbar and accessible with a single click of the mouse- regardless where my computing environment Is located at the time.
Whilst this serves It's purpose very well Indeed when functioning without error, If you want to remove a pinned app, the native Unpin this program from the taskbar option, Is known to fail at the best of times.
As a result, I will demonstrate how to clear every pinned app In one hit, by using a neat little batch file. All It takes on your end, Is to double-click the file and within literally one second, the job's done. I have provided the download links to the batch file, at the end of this article. So without further delay, let's get this tutorial started.
Step One:
Once you've downloaded the file, extract Its contents to a folder of your choice. You will then see a file named Clear Pinned Apps.bat, which Is In fact the batch file, so simply double-click It. This will automatically delete a few entries In the Windows Registry, thereby unpin every app from the Taskbar.Step Two:
Every app will now be cleared from the Taskbar. Here's my setting before the above file was executed. My apps are neatly pinned.Last Step:
And here's the result after double-clicking the batch file. As you can see and as expected, every app has been cleared and the Taskbar Is back to It's raw state, Perfect!Final Thoughts:
As already mentioned, this comes to very good use when the Unpin this program from the taskbar option fails to serve Its purpose. Another benefit, Is If you have an array of pinned apps and rather than unpinning them Individually, simply use the batch file to do It ln one hit.Use any of the links below to download the batch file.
